Many thanks to the Come Home East Hants Association, particularly Kody Blois and Kendall Nowe
for setting in motion the plans for this wonderful documentary.
Kody gathered a group of local people who had an interest in the history of East Hants, including teachers, politicians, members of the East Hants Historical Society and the Enfield Heritage Centre Association.
This project was made possible through funding from the Province of Nova Scotia Communities Culture and Heritage as part of Canada 150, and the hard work of Peter Giffen.
Peter put many hours into the project. and ensured that the end result would be a quality product.
There was a sneak preview screening of the unfinished documentary in Maitland in June of 2018.
The premiere of the finished product- narrated by Jim Nunn, took place at Park Lane Theatres in Halifax
on September 20th, 2018
as part of the Atlantic International Film Festival.
Subsequent screenings were held at Hants East Rural High School (October 4th, 2028)
and later a free showing at the Green Hall in Gormanville,
sponsored by Hants North Recreation and Development Association and Tidefest..
All viewings of the documentary were very well received.
